Trump has named nominee to lead the world’s most powerful military as secretary of defense

CombineWave: Peter Hegseth (born June 6, 1980) is the co-host of FOX and host of multiple series on FOX Nation, television presenter, author, and Army National Guard officer. President-elect Trump has named nominee to lead the world’s most powerful military as secretary of defense in Donald Trump’s second cabinet (2024).

According to his official website, The 44-year-old served as an infantry officer in the National Guard, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, and was awarded two Bronze Star medals. Peter also held the position of CEO for Concerned Veterans for America.

Pete has a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University in 2003 and he received master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (in 2013) (although he mailed this degree back to Harvard!). Pete and his wife Jennifer Rauchet​ live in Tennessee and have 7 children.

He has also authored multiple books. He joined Fox in 2014 and now co-hosts Fox News and Friends Weekend as well as serves as a host for Fox Nation.

He is most recent book is “Battle for the American Mind” (June, 2022) and  spent over twelve weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list, including four straight weeks at #1.
